About Us

“It’s Hempenin’… Maui Style”!

The Maui Hemp Institute (MHI) is committed to protecting the interests of the land and people of the islands as the production and cultivation of Hemp grows in the coming years. Hemp offers humanity a new hope for bettering our world and helping to restore balance with our environment. We are very excited to be launching numerous research projects in the coming year and all the pieces are in place for the success of the vision.

Here in Maui we have a variety of microclimates and weather conditions as well as a year-round growing season which can provide the ideal environment for this research as well as helping to create a sustainable economy. We are working closely with both the local Government and the Indigenous Hawaiian community.

The Hemp plant will build a bridge of cooperation in harmony with environment and economy. Hemp provides food, fiber for textiles, medicine, and affordable building materials of superior quality. We have research on the many other benefits, continually being uncovered. There are many, from soil and water remediation, to carbon sequestering, wind break and soil building, to the development of polymers and carbonite for use in automobile and aircraft bodies and paint, the superconductivity of Hemp graphine, the production of bio-fuels, and the many unknown medicinal benefits of cannibanoids. We have assembled an amazing team committed to our shared vision of service and sustainability through the research of this invaluable plant.

Here in the islands we live and teach a way of life that is committed to learning how we can share and preserve our resources and collaborate in the spirit of Aloha. The Maui Hemp Institute is committed to protecting the interests of the land and the people as the production and cultivation of Hemp grows in the coming years. Hemp offers humanity a new opportunity to better our world and restore balance with our environment. The knowledge attained through our research here on Maui creates a model that spreads hope and sustainability throughout the world. Mahalo and thank you for your support and for sharing in our vision of hope for the future of our islands and our world.

Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ʻĀina i ka Pono.

The life of the land is perpetuated in Righteousness.
